Online Training & Mentorship Services for Software Developers

Designed for individuals or small groups who prefer personalized training to broaden their skills and acquire software development knowledge from experienced mentors.

nodejs react microservices kubernetes training

If success could be measured in “Please guys, do an online training!” emails, we’d already be millionaires. To reflect on the growing demand for online training options, we created a service that allows software developers to learn online from RisingStack.

Recommended for individuals / small groups, who..

  • prefer guided, personalized study-paths instead of skimming through endless amounts of online material.
  • are looking for the guidance of a senior JavaScript mentor who’ll speed up the improvement of their engineering skills.
  • need expert help with their current projects or work.

During our training sessions, we’ll focus on teaching how to build fast and scalable web-applications with the current best practices and the best tools in mind. Our mentor crew can cover Back-end, Front-end and DevOps topics as well.

The pro’s of online training and mentorship

  • Cost: We all know that face to face coaching / training is expensive. There are often travel & accommodation costs involved as well. In comparison, online coaching happens between two engineers with computers and an internet connection - which is certainly more affordable.

  • Flexibility: It is much easier to schedule an online training session than one IRL. You can also have one with a mentor from the other side of the planet.

  • Made for you: We'll create a personalized training agenda based on your current skill level and career goals.

Training materials

In the past 5 years, we’ve trained several hundred developers through individual mentoring sessions, in-person group training sessions, or online webinars.

Although we already have several training agendas we can build on, we’re very flexible on determining your learning path based on your current skill level, career goals, and preferences.

Why learn from RisingStack?

If you’re not familiar with our previous work, or the content we create, then let us introduce ourselves really quickly:

As a company, we provide professional web-development, training and consulting services from the early days of Node.js. We helped companies like Lufthansa, Cisco, Trivago, DHL & LogMeIn to thrive with Javascript and its surrounding ecosystem.

We’re also extremely committed to be an integral part of the JS community. We've spent the previous 5 years writing free books and long-form tutorials on our blog. Our crew has written more than 230 articles on the topics of Node.js, Microservices & Front-end so far.

Our blog is one of the main resources web-developer developers turn to in trouble - this is why more than 150.000 engineers learn from us each month. Also, RisingStack has been named one of the leading Node.js companies in TechCrunch’s “Tracking the explosive growth of open-source software” analysis.

RisingStack helped us to carry out an internal Kubernetes cluster audit for TIKI's Data Science Platform. Together, the mixed team was able to identify over 10 relevant topics and was able to solve most of them during the five day on-site engagement. After the intense work and exchange, the team was able to solve the remaining topics within next 8 weeks. At the present time DSP runs smoothly and there are no design or performance bottlenecks.

It’s easy to believe you know enough about microservices to get started. However, the subject is both complex and broad. To better navigate the challenges I attended RisingStack’s comprehensive course on microservices in LA. I highly recommend it!

RisingStack has provided a series of trainings targeted at enhancing our developers' skills and confidence regarding Node.js and Microservices. The training programme had a well-thought-out syllabus and was very well organized. The instructors were very experienced and knowledgeable regarding full-stack development. The workshops had a lot of real-world examples and advice which made our developers feel the usefulness of the training. Overall a high quality training that fulfilled all our objectives.

Working with RisingStack has been a great experience so far, they are group of professionals and experts in the field. The thing we liked the most is that they adapt the training to all the different levels in the room and this makes it very easy to follow the new concepts they are presenting. Advanced React training was pretty good and one thing we will highlight, is that they published the repository in case somebody would need it in the future.

When it comes to microservices and scaling a distributed system, the company we reach out to is RisingStack. Their DevOps experts could validate existing plans and make technology decisions that our team can confidently depend on. I highly recommend attending their Kubernetes and microservices trainings as well.

During RisingStack's microservices training and subsequent Node.js audit mission, we felt well listened to, and we got the opportunity to present all of our questions and ideas. The presenters were knowledgeable of the subject and supported us in the creation of relevant technical tasks that we could easily integrate into our backlogs.

I have gained more appreciation for the Microservices course after reviewing the slides a few days after. To me, this means that I wasn't able to keep up with all the useful information that was provided due to the speed of the training (might be my fault). Thanks for putting together such a course and bringing it to Barcelona, it is obvious that this could only come from a group of people who have faced these challenges many times before.

At Instructure we're building Canvas, the world's leading LMS system which is used by half of the world's top 50 Universities. We engaged 4 developers from RisingStack to build a critical core functionality in our distributed system. Besides delivering high-quality code, RisingStack helped us train new staff, carried out code-reviews and made suggestions on improving our infrastructure.

RisingStack helped our team jumpstart an internal project using Node.js. Our team consists mostly of Java programmers who only had experience with more traditional web development environments. They helped us get started with a solid project structure and pointed us in the right direction regarding all the best practices. It's hard to imagine how many hours of trial and error that we saved by getting their expert advice!

Let’s get to know each other first!

The success of a mentorship depends on the relationship between the person / small-group who wants to acquire new knowledge, and the senior engineer who’ll guide them on this path.

After you contact us, we’ll schedule a 60 minutes-long, free consultation session to learn more about You, your current goals, and the challenges you face as a developer.

Once there’s good chemistry between you and your prospective mentor, we’ll move forward and create the backbone of the study path you’ll embark on.

Questions you might have:

What timezone is the online training/coaching available?

We’re from Europe, so we're in the CET timezone, also known as UTC+1. We’re available from 9AM till 6PM. This means that we can confidently cover Europe, Middle-East and the US as well.

Can my company pay for the training?

Can you train teams or multiple ppl online as well?

Yes, we can and do train small groups as well! Feel free to reach out and we'll se if there's a solution for your needs.

What’s the minimum or maximum length of the training?

Our ready-made training agendas can be covered in around 16 hours. But it’s possible that you need a customized training or a tailor-made study path.
